February Brunch and Meeting:
“Local Birds, Butterflies, and Other
Creatures that Fly from A to Z”
Bob Pierce, Speaker
Saturday, February 17, 2018
10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Join us for a delicious brunch, and welcome spring early as Bob Pierce, bird watcher, teacher, and photographer introduces us to flying creatures he has met and photographed in our area. Bob’s background includes an Associate’s Degree in Photography, a BA in English from Ohio Wesleyan University, and an MA in English from West Chester University. He taught in the Downingtown School District for 25 years and was given the Teacher of the Year Award in 2007. That same year Bob was named Coach of the Year for the Chester County Academic Contest. Bob is currently the Recording Secretary for the West Chester Bird Club and an active member of the Birding Club of Delaware County. He has taken trips to Costa Rica, Kenya, Belize, and other fascinating places where he has taken wonderful photographs of birds and animals in their natural habitat. He has presented this program on the “Locals” as well as ones on Kenya and Costa Rica to bird groups and other local organizations in the area. We are delighted to welcome Bob and hear his expertise on our local flying creatures as we take a break from winter and share a wonderful meal.
