AAUW West Chester-Chester County October Branch Meeting:
October 13th, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
Location: Thornbury Farm, 1256 Thornbury Road, West Chester, PA
October 13th at 7:00 p.m. on ZOOM

In an effort to respond to member requests for another in-person event and to be sensitive to the needs of working members, this meeting will be held outdoors at Thornbury Farm at 2:00 p.m. and will also stream on ZOOM at 7:00 p.m.  with a recording of the guest speaker.

In the event of inclement weather (temperature or precipitation) the meeting at the farm will be moved to ZOOM at 7:00 p.m. so please keep your calendars clear for both times!  A decision regarding venue  will be made on Tuesday, October 12.

Speaker: Tonya Dipilla, Associate Director of Development and Communication, Canine Partners for Life

Canine Partners for Life breeds and trains service dogs to assist people with mobility problems or  medical conditions such as seizures, diabetes and certain heart conditions.  Service dogs have enabled clients to attend school/college, engage in a career, and lead a fulfilling life. Tonya will speak to us about how service dogs are trained and share examples of clients who have achieved their educational and professional goals as a result of having a service dog.  The presentation will feature a live demonstration by a fully trained service dog.

The Branch offers its  most sincere appreciation to Thornbury Farms (1256 Thornbury Rd, West Chester) for the use of their beautiful garden area for our outdoor meetings.  The farm sells many homemade goodies at its store which is open Fridays – Sundays.  Members are asked to support the farm as they shop for holiday treats.
